Pop Go the Windows

A word on new supergroup Tinted Windows.

by Christine Werthman

Get ready for a sugar rush with the self-titled debut album from power pop supergroup Tinted Windows. The band is comprised of an unlikely foursome: singer Taylor Hanson from Hanson, guitarist James Iha of the Smashing Pumpkins, bassist Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne and drummer Bun E. Carlos from Cheap Trick. The group’s first single, “Kind of a Girl,” has 1970s pop rock flair, fuzzed out guitars and Hanson’s bright, boy-band tenor disguising itself with a more raspy delivery. The album comes out on April 21 from S-Curve. Check out the band at www.tintedwindowsmusic.com.
