We believe that the real “value” of camp is the value of friendship. Situated on more than 350 sprawling acres, the summer programs emphasize caring, sharing and respect with friends, old and new. Programs at the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds feature an action-packed schedule filled with instructional and recreational swimming, sports, group activities, Jewish culture and special events for children ages 5 and up. Children with special needs participate in an expanded, inclusive camp program. Specialty camps include theatrical arts and sports, and tweens in grades 5 and older hit the open road for fun travel experiences. The Mid-Island Y JCC also offers Tween Adventures in Fitness, a co-ed program for ages 11-14, which promotes a healthy lifestyle and body image through nutrition, recreation, weight training and aerobic activities. Teens can choose from Tween Trailways, Teen Travel Camp or the CITE-Counselor In Training summer internship program. Additionally offered are on-site preschool day camps for ages 2-5.
